Music Academy exists to empower and equip students in how to worship God using their instruments. Students may only go through the Music Academy if they have gone through one of our internships before or if they will take it simultaneously with our internship. The focus of Music Academy is currently to teach on how to play an instrument while the internship provides the theological background to support it. However, our teachers most likely will teach you on the heart of worship throughout the sessions. Dedication and commitment is a huge requirement in Music Academy. A minimum of one hour per week is required for class lesson (depending on your skill level and your teacher the time may increase) in music theory and in learning how to play your instrument. At least seven hours of worship with your instrument will be required per week either by yourself or with a team/prayer leader in the house of prayer. If you are taking Music Academy with our internship, you will have to be able to commit to at least fifteen hours per week. Please be prepared to demonstrate a ten minutes solo or an etude material to demonstrate your technical, lyrical, and/or sight-reading skills for your instrument. Even though it is not required to know how to play an instrument to be able to apply for the class, the music demonstration will help our teachers better assist you in placing you in the appropriate level. |
